Welcome to Hummer Pickup Truck Header

At the Los Angeles auto show in 2004, General Motors Corporation unveiled the Hummer H3 pickup truck, this concept vehicle traces it's roots back to the the Chevrolet Colorado and the GMC Canyon pickup trucks.

The SUV version of the H3 is currently being built at the General Motors plant in Shreveport, Louisiana and if GM decides to put the pickup truck version into production it is expected to be built at the same location. Sales of the SUV have been good with over 33,000 sold in 2005 and many potential buyers have expressed interest in seeing a pickup truck version for sale. GM has refused to confirm plans to build the pickup truck.

Any vehicle that bears the named HUMMER must be the best in it's class and the H3 pickup truck if built will be no exception. Some of the most unique features of the H3 pickup are the side access doors embedded into the bed of the truck as well as the drop down steps that are also a weather tight storage compartment.

H3 Concept Hummer Truck

In a recent news release (Oct, 2006) General Motors Corporation announced that "A new Hummer truck will be released in 2009 and will have unparalleled off-road capabilities and be recognizable from a distance." At this time we are not sure if the new truck will in fact be a pickup truck but in an off the record conversation with a hummer sales manager he informed me that he has been told to expect shipments of the new pickup truck to begin in late 2008 or early 2009.

General motors has also recently stated that they see no immediate need for a hybrid version of a Hummer so we have to wait and see if the current high gas prices will have any effect on future Hummer models.
